Samuel Atorsah - Math Instructor
Samuel Atorsah was an instructor of mathematics at MacCormac College and Waubonsee Community College, prior to joining Beacon Academy. Atorsah holds B.S. from the University of Ghana, and M.S. in Applied Mathematics from DePaul University, Chicago. He has taught and mentored pre-college and college level students in various areas and levels of math and statistics. His journey in math and love for the subject started in high school in Ghana’s northern belt at St. Charles Senior High School (ordinary level program) in the city of Tamale and at St. Augustine's College (advanced level program) where he pursued advanced level mathematics alongside core science in biology, chemistry and physics, graduating in the mold of Catholic education with ethical standards, etiquette, spiritual development and discipline with the benefits of boarding education. Sam founded and assumed leadership roles in math discussion boards while in high school and college, encouraging others to embrace the subject of mathematics. He has also served on committees seeking to advance voluntary tutoring and mentoring programs in Ghana and the United States.
