Alex Wilkins

Mathematics Instructor

 

Alex joined Beacon in 2019 after eight years at the British School of Chicago as a Mathematics teacher and Dean of Students. Alex was born and raised in the United Kingdom but attended high school in Boston before returning to Norwich, England and the University of East Anglia to get a Bachelors in Politics, Philosophy and Economics and a PGCE in Secondary Mathematics Education. He taught in London before moving to Chicago in 2011. Alex represented England in basketball at all junior levels and continued playing in the British Basketball League at the beginning of his teaching career. Alex lives in the West Loop of Chicago with his wife and two cats. He is also a IHSA soccer and basketball official.
