Willow Walker

Director of Admissions & Financial Aid

 

Willow joined Beacon Academy as the Director of Admissions & Financial Aid after serving as the Assistant Director for High School Placement and Alumni Support for the LEARN Charter School Network. Before working for LEARN, Willow was the Director of Education for the Daniel Murphy Scholarship Fund. As a recipient of the Daniel Murphy Scholarship herself, Willow has seen firsthand the power that a strong academic foundation can have on the trajectory of one’s life. Willow has worked within the realm of adolescent development over the past thirteen years in social work through Mercy Home for Boys & Girls as well as in academic enrichment curriculum development through the High Jump Program. Willow is passionate about educating the whole student and identifying academic talent in youth. When Willow is not working, she spends her time volunteering with the Surge Institute, a fellowship program from which she is an alumna. She also enjoys traveling to California to spend time with family and friends on the beach.
