Heidi Zelaya

World Languages Instructor

While Heidi originally joined Beacon Academy as a substitute teacher, our faculty and students quickly fell in love and were thrilled when she decided to permanently join the World Languages Department as a Spanish Instructor. Heidi is originally from Blackfoot, Idaho, but she grew up in Cuernavaca, Mexico. Her first language is Spanish, and she is always enthusiastic to teach about her culture and the language. At the beginning of her studies, she spent a year working with indigenous cultures. She graduated with her first bachelor's degree from Bachilleres Cuernavaca and received an additional bachelor’s degree in Education and Social Sciences from the National Autonomous University of Mexico. Heidi is both a season educator and a proud mother.
