Welcome from the Head of School

At Beacon, education is not just about what students learn—it’s about who they become. From the moment a student walks through our doors, they feel it: a vibrant, forward-thinking environment that looks and feels more like a startup than a traditional school. It’s a place where smart, curious, and creative students are empowered to take ownership of their learning and their future.
Beacon Academy was built to reimagine the high school experience. Here, students don’t simply prepare for college—they begin living it. With engaging academics, real-world opportunities, and a community that champions individuality, our students cultivate the independence, confidence, and insight needed to thrive well beyond graduation.
Located in the heart of Evanston—a progressive, education-rich town—we blur the boundaries between school and city. Our students take classes designed by Kellogg School of Management professors, intern with local organizations, and create, compete, and collaborate throughout the broader Chicago area. This intentional integration of real-world experience and academic rigor sets our students apart.
But what truly defines Beacon is our culture. Families often say we’re “low drama, high achievement.” Our students call us “home.” That sense of belonging stems from a mutual commitment between students and faculty—a belief that learning is a shared journey, and that every interaction has the potential to shape minds and spark change. This culture of camaraderie extends beyond the classroom in our robust offerings of athletics, student clubs.
Beacon students graduate not only with academic excellence, but with a strong sense of self and a mature, forward-looking voice. They’re more than ready for college—because Beacon has already given them the freedom, the responsibility, and the inspiration to start becoming who they are meant to be.
I invite you to visit, meet our students and faculty, and experience firsthand what makes Beacon such a transformative place to learn and grow.
