A Place We
CONSIDER HOME

Of the many traditions we have at Beacon, the ones that our students, faculty, and staff hold most dear are those that bring all of us together— across grades, specialties, and interests. We have many such traditions including daily lunch, weekly Community Meetings, school dances, big games, seasonal performances, and— of course— graduation.

Inclusion and Expression
Go Hand-in-hand

At Beacon, learning is everywhere—formal and informal, planned and spontaneous. It happens in classrooms, around the kitchen island, at Community Meeting, class trips, across our open campus, and even on the train ride in.

Inclusion at Beacon means full participation, with student voices at the center. Every student joins a student-led club or activity—guided by faculty, fueled by passion, and reflective of who they are. As interests evolve, so do the offerings, keeping expression dynamic and deeply personal.

A Daily Schedule that Defies
High School Norms

Student-teacher relationships are built on trust, curiosity, and mutual respect. Teachers don’t just deliver content—they mentor, listen, and learn alongside their students. These connections make learning personal, purposeful, and powerfully effective.

We have a later start and end to our day to ensure we meet students at their best, well-rested and full of energy. In addition, we operate on a block schedule with built-in community, advisory, and study time for all. Teachers and students alike, across grades, follow the same lunch schedule and routines, making it natural for them to collaborate and connect.
