Q: What program or class have you participated in that made you look at things differently?
A: This summer, I joined an Elon University program in New York City. For two months, I interned and lived amidst a diverse group of peers in a New York University dorm on the bustling corner of 3rd Avenue and 14th Street. The process of securing an internship in a competitive environment taught me resilience. Living in NYC provided a crash course in true independence, similar to my early days at college but amplified by professional commitments. The experience highlighted the importance of hands-on work and personal growth. I'm grateful to Elon and excited for my next journey: studying in London!

Q: Will this impact the path that you take after graduation?
A: Absolutely, this experience will be pivotal for my post-graduation path. Beyond the classroom knowledge from college, this real-world exposure highlighted my ability to navigate challenges. The hands-on experience not only assisted my learning but will also strengthen my appeal to potential employers.

Q: What do you think is important about alumni engagement and what programming would you like to see added at Beacon Academy?
A: Engaging with Elon Alumni in New York City was a highlight of the program. Witnessing their success stories post-Elon is truly inspiring. I'd suggest Beacon Academy further tap into its diverse alumni network. Hosting sessions where alumni share their journeys from Beacon to their respective careers can provide invaluable insights for those following similar paths.
