Audrey Perrott

Audrey has been a member of the Beacon Academy community for over 10 years when she joined a small group of educators and parents to envision a transformative and innovative educational experience for high school students, grounded in Montessori philosophy. She was delighted to rejoin the community from Trustee on the Founding Beacon Academy Board to Interim Head of School for the 22-23 school year and later honored to be named Beacon Academy's Head of School.

Following a successful and fulfilling career at Near North Montessori School, Audrey retired from her position as the Head of School after 13 years and moved to Chelsea, Michigan with her husband, Ed, and dog, Leonard. Audrey enjoyed a few quiet months in the countryside before her love of education and the call of a colleague drew her back to serve in school leadership again. She returned to Chicago to join the Chicago Academy for the Performing Arts as Acting Head of School in Spring 2022.

With over 35 years of experience in the field of education, she brings to Beacon Academy a broad set of skills and experiences in nonprofit organizations, public speaking, team building, fundraising, communication, program development, strategic planning, school leadership, and board governance. Audrey has served on a number of boards over the years and currently serves as Board President on the Independent Schools of the Central States (ISACS) Board of Directors.

Audrey is a certified AMI Montessori teacher and administrator, with a master's degree in Organizational Communication from Northwestern University and a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Business.
